Turron de Fruta by Sanchis Mira 7 oz. Pack of 3
Sanchis Mira's turrón de fruta is the candied-fruit bar that shows up on the Noche Buena dessert table next to the turrón de Jijona and the marzipan — bright squares of glazed fruit bound in a soft, nutty nougat.
Made in Jijona, Spain, by Sanchis Mira, a turronero house dating to 1864. Each 7 oz bar is studded with candied cherries, pineapple, and citrus peel against a base of almonds and honey. Three bars per pack.
Common Uses: sliced thin onto the Christmas dessert tray, served alongside coffee after Noche Buena dinner, broken into pieces for the merienda, plated with cheese and nuts for a Spanish-style postre.
Cultural Context: Spanish turrones traveled with Cuban families as part of the holiday table — turrón de Jijona, turrón de Alicante, and turrón de fruta are the three that anchor most Cuban-American Christmas spreads. The fruta version is the colorful one kids remember reaching for first.
Pairs With: cafecito, sidra El Gaitero, Spanish almonds, membrillo and Manchego, the rest of the turrón lineup.
Ships nationwide — turrón de fruta is a seasonal item that disappears fast from South Florida shelves once Noche Buena approaches.
